THE CLIENT:
Community Cutlery
Approaching its third birthday, Community Cutlery was a popular and integral part of Ilkleyโs independent community, offering a wide range of products and services including homeware, specialist knives, sharpening in-house, on-location, by post, and sharpening courses in-person and online.
The pressures of delivering all of these services meant talking about them fell by the wayside, posts were popular but Gaz only had the time to post sporadically, which meant a struggle to build up momentum and convert social activity to revenue.
THE BRIEF:
THE DELIVERABLES:
We performed a brand audit and SWOT analysis, identifying e-commerce as an area for growth potential, and the personalised service and Gazโs personality as a USP we wanted to translate into Community Cutleryโs social presence.
We developed a social strategy, schedule, and content formats to ensure content would be engaging, consistent, and give the proportionate amount of airtime to Community Cutleryโs different services and revenue streams, and briefed and created all of the content in-house. See it for yourself here!
We began our discovery process in June, implemented the new strategy by July and saw record reach and engagement figures by the end of the month. In August, e-commerce revenue was higher than the previous yearโs pre-Christmas period.
By November we set our sights on Tiktok and worked with Gaz to tweak the format to build a reach on a new platform without having to create a separate filming workload. In December we implemented the strategy and reached a new audience of almost 700,000 - all from a half-day content shoot.
Q3 revenue across the business was up 69% compared to 2023, and Decemberโs year-on-year e-commerce revenue increased by 96%
